Sustainability and innovation: Aluvision's new headquarters
At Aluvision, we are committed to sustainability and innovation every day. We continuously seek ways to minimize our environmental impact while maintaining high-quality products. Our dedication to a sustainable future took shape last summer with the move to our brand-new headquarters at the high-tech Evolis industrial park in Kortrijk.
A future-proof and inspiring design
Our new building is designed with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and a pleasant working environment. In addition to modern and ergonomic production areas, and office spaces naturally lit by large spans of glass offering tranquil views of the outdoors, we are investing in additional facilities to enhance not just the well-being of our employees, but for people of the city to enjoy and use: additional offices, an experience room, event hall, gym, movie theater, in-house restaurant, and multipurpose rooftop terrace. By creating such a community hub, we’re also helping people outside our organization to reduce their carbon footprint for their leisure and work needs.
Sustainable energy and innovative technologies
Sustainability is a core value at Aluvision, reflected in the technologies implemented in our new headquarters:
• Geothermal energy: 142 drillings support efficient HVAC systems, providing 310,000 kWh of heating and 265,000 kWh of cooling annually.
• Solar panels: 20,000 m² of solar panels generate over 3,100,000 kWh per year.
• LED lighting: Energy-efficient lighting reduces energy costs.
• Water management: 300 m³ of rainwater is collected and reused for purposes such as toilet flushing.
• Charging infrastructure: Charging points for electric cars and bicycles, including 30 charging docks for electric trucks.
Sustainable construction and materials
The construction of our 36,000 m² headquarters incorporates environmentally friendly and efficient building methods:
• Location choice: Evolis Business Park was strategically chosen for its sustainable positioning, with excellent bicycle and highway connections.
• Materials: Use of locally sourced, recyclable, and low-carbon materials.
• Insulation and ventilation: High-quality glazing (U-value 1W/m²K) and green roofs ensure an optimal indoor climate.
• Waste management: Optimization of packaging and reusable transport materials to minimize waste.
Mobility and connectivity
By moving our headquarters to the Evolis Industrial Park in Kortrijk, we can also empower our employees to make eco-conscious decisions and changes in their lifestyles. The building is located along a dedicated cycle highway, and we can help with bicycle leasing options for employees. Also nearby are public transportation hubs for employees to utilize in their comings and goings. And because we have established this facility for greater public use, the public parking we offer can be utilized for all visitors and events at the Evolis site, and the coworking spaces that are available to external companies helps reduce traffic and emissions outside of our business.
Building a sustainable future together
The move to our new headquarters in Kortrijk marks an important milestone for Aluvision. It is not only an investment in a modern and inspiring workspace but also a statement of our commitment to sustainability and innovation. Through advanced technologies and a conscious choice for green energy and materials, we are shaping a future where we continue to reduce our environmental footprint and help others to do the same.
